What attracted you to Conexus and what are you most looking forward to in your role?

I loved the concept that Conexus is helping people reach their potential, and that the organization puts something positive into communities, both at home and abroad.

What did you do before joining Conexus?

I used to work as a Curriculum Manager for the Armed Forces, a Societies Coordinator for Cardiff University, and as an English Teacher in Japan!

Which Conexus value (passion, integrity, care and support, family, growth, gratitude) resonates most with you and why?

Passion - if you aren't passionate about what you do, then you shouldn't be doing it. The potential positive impact we can have on others is immense if you're passionate, that impact is so much bigger.

What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far?

I climbed a mountain to see a waterfall. I cursed and was red in the face the whole way up, but, at the end, it was the most beautiful view I'd ever seen. Worth every blister!

How do you give back to your community?

I take part in book drives, to give books to children around the UK.

Tell us about your life outside of work.

I am an avid reader, and I love to bake. I love spending time with my partner, Chris, and we travel a lot. I'm a massive nerd, and play Dungeons & Dragons every week. I take often take part in local theatre, both onstage (badly) and backstage (better). I also have a little dog called Futomaki (meaning "fat sushi roll" in Japanese), whom I love to death and spoil rotten.

What is your favorite holiday destination?

Japan - I got proposed to there!

What is your favorite quote or motto?

Fall seven times and get up eight.

What types of books or movies do you enjoy?

I love a good sci-fi and fantasy, though I also enjoy a good horror (provided I can hide behind a cushion)!

We're thankful for our Conexus team members who are dedicated to helping international nurses and medical laboratory technologists build a life they love in the United States. Learn about our values that drive our commitment to improving the wellbeing of communities, one healthcare professional at a time.
