Established by the American Staffing Association (ASA), September 11 – 17, 2023 is National Staffing Employee Week. This annual week honors the millions of temporary and contract employees that work for U.S. staffing agencies. Conexus MedStaff is proud of the many international healthcare professionals that make a difference to the wellbeing of the communities and patients they serve.

In celebration of this week and the amazing international healthcare professionals that we work with, we are excited to spotlight Lovely Subeldia, one of our registered nurses who recently completed her Conexus MedStaff contract and is now working full-time at a hospital in North Carolina. Read below to learn more about Lovely.

About Lovely

International nurses, like Lovely, make a difference in communities across the United States as the overall shortage of U.S. nurses continues to grow. Lovely, originally from the Philippines, recently completed her Conexus MedStaff contract after excelling as a registered nurse (RN) in the medical-surgical unit.

Lovely’s long-term goal is to become a Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse. She was awarded Conexus MedStaff’s EARN Scholarship in May 2023 to cover the cost of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification to help further enhance her knowledge and skills.

Lovely’s Conexus MedStaff Journey

Conexus MedStaff works with international nurses, nursing students and medical technologists to obtain U.S. citizenship and help them grow in their careers. We provide our healthcare professionals with additional training opportunities, the support of in-house clinical educators, and personalized education programs through our Conexus Academy to support in various clinical needs for continued learning and career success. Many of our nurses are hired by their assigned facility full-time at the end of their Conexus MedStaff employment and are thrilled to join the staff permanently and continue contributing to the hospital and their new community.

This is true of Lovely’s journey. Over the duration of her time as a Conexus MedStaff nurse, Lovely received numerous accolades from leaders, peers and patients at her assigned facility, all celebrating her talent, motivation, care for others and positivity. She even received a DAISY Award for her extraordinary compassion and care for patients and their family members. According to Lovely, “My passion is to help my patients in their every need. I love what I do which is taking care of my patients and giving them excellent care.”

During a time that is especially tough on healthcare with many nurses leaving the industry altogether, Lovely is committed to staying within the healthcare industry and establishing a life in the U.S. Lovely is enthusiastic and provides quality care to the patients in her community, is passionate about making a difference, and demonstrates detail-oriented solutions and results, expressing compassion for her patients, and remaining devoted to increasing healthcare outcomes. She loves being a nurse and is taking every stride towards becoming a future healthcare leader.

Shared directly from one of her clinical supervisors, “Lovely is a wonderful, caring, and intelligent nurse who has a passion for bettering herself so she can better the patients she cares for. I know she has a great future in healthcare and in anything she puts her hand to.”

Having worked hard in and outside of her job and education to build a life in the U.S., Lovely trusted Conexus MedStaff to help facilitate American citizenship for herself and her family, so that they could build a new life together in the United States. She is passionate about providing care and making a difference in the community she now calls home, sharing, “I have always wanted to live the American dream. I love it here. I love the people, my community, the environment, my workplace. Everything is so perfect for us, and I hope to permanently stay in the U.S.”
