The New Year means nothing if you are still in love with your comfort zone. With 2018 only just beginning, now’s the chance for all of us who didn’t quite get around to making the changes we said we would ‘tomorrow’, ‘next week’, ‘next month’. Let’s start 2018 with New Year resolutions we can keep. See the top meaningful resolutions that the Conexus Medstaff team think you should stick by in the New Year.

Go on an Adventure

With the New Year finally here now’s the time to get yourself out there and travel. Adventures are a chance to learn something new and be part of a life-changing experience. Where better place to start your adventure than the USA. The USA is the third largest country in the world so you can be sure that a new adventure will never be too far away.

Want to spend time in the desert? There's the state of Nevada. Like long, hot summers? There’s Arizona, Texas, South Carolina. Forests, farms, mountain tops, beaches, bustling cities? Check! And not forgetting the beautiful state of North Carolina! Since opening our newest office in Charlotte, North Carolina is a state that we have certainly fallen in love with.

The US has a world's worth of climate and geographic variety in one country making it one of the best countries in the world to explore. Whether you want to spend your free time enjoying the space of the outdoors, long drives along the coast or simply spending quality time with family and friends – the US has something for you!

Look after Yourself

Self-care isn’t selfish. Self-care is essential, especially in the nursing profession. Self-care is important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle – it’s about keeping your mind and body healthy and happy.

So if you feel overwhelmed and stressed, why not take advantage of the great outdoors and go on a hike? Prioritizing sleep is important too. Science shows that people who sleep for seven hours a night are healthier and live longer, proving that sleep really is the best meditation.

Take some time out for yourself and you can be sure that you will be at your physical and mentally best for 2018.

Believe in Yourself

Positive thinking is all about concentrating on the bright side of life and believing that you can overcome any difficulties. This 2018 we believe that the power of positive thinking can go a long way!

Confidence and believing in yourself is vital. Why not put the power of positive thinking to practice – do you have an exam like the NCLEX-RN coming up? Will you be graduating this year? Or, will you be applying for a new job in 2018? Believe you can and you will.
