Application and assessment

Once you've applied, you'll meet your Experience Coordinator, who'll guide you throughout your journey to the U.S.

Document collection and clinical assessment

We'll help you gather the documents needed to file your immigration petition. You'll also undertake a short clinical assessment to determine your experience, helping us tailor your support.

Visa & immigration

Once we have all your documents, we'll file your I-140 immigration petition. At this point, we'll capture your priority date.

Education 

While your immigration petition is processing, our education team will assess your strengths and provide you with a personalised learning plan based on your career aspirations.

Client assignment

Our Selection Advisors will guide you through your assignment options, working closely with you to ensure you're assigned to a client location that meets your personal and professional goals.

Client Offer

Once you receive an offer, we will begin to put deployment plans in place.

Credentialing

WHY YOU NEED THE ASCPI TO WORK IN THE U.S.

To work in the U.S. as a Medical Technologist, you'll need a professional certification. For most states, an ASCPi is sufficient to work; however, a minority of states require a specific state licence in addition to ASCPi.

ASCPi certification is an internationally recognized credential offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). This certification program is designed for laboratory professionals who've received their education and training outside the United States.

Medical Technologist Careers In the U.S.: FAQs

What are the requirements for Medical Technologists to work in the U.S?

As a medical technologist, you must be currently working in a lab as a generalist in a Tertiary or Secondary Facility. In addition, you must have completed a 4-year bachelor's degree in one of the following:

  • Medical laboratory science
  • Medical technology
  • Biological science
  • Chemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Biochemistry

You'll also need to have ASCPi certification.

If you don't currently meet our requirements, then our recruitment experts may be able to advise you on how you can make changes to be eligible for a contract with us in the future.

 

What U.S. Visa does Conexus sponsor for international lab professionals?

For medical Technologies, we offer an opportunity to enter the annual H1B visa lottery, which takes place each March. If you're selected in the H1B lottery, your EB3 visa continues to process in the background, meaning the H1B can eventually be adjusted to EB3 once issued.

How long will it take for a medical technologist to relocate to the U.S?
