Karina's story: Karina - International Nurse Graduate on OPT
By Conexus MedStaff - Posted September 5, 2024
Like many international nursing students on an F1 visa, Karina was worried about her future as a U.S. nurse after graduating from a U.S.-based university. Karina is originally from Venezuala and had been looking for a job on her OPT that would provide sponsorship. Her uncle sent her a job posting by Conexus MedStaff, and things started to look up for Karina. She now works as a new nurse in the U.S.. Here is her experience working with Conexus MedStaff as a new international nurse after graduating from a U.S. university:
“After looking for a job for months during the pandemic with no success, I was lucky enough to have my uncle send me the link of a job posting by Conexus. I did not hesitate and applied right away. I am so glad I did! I was reluctant at first because it all seemed just too good to be true but it turned out that it is 100% true. They are all so supportive and ready to help. I did not feel alone, they are with you every step of the way.
The deployment process was so much easier with the help of my operations manager, Kristin. I was overwhelmed, scared, and nervous to start this new life and career; so having her there and the entire Conexus team, made all the difference. To be honest, I am actually glad nothing else worked out because I wouldn’t want to start my nursing career any other way.”
If you’re an international nursing student in the U.S. on an F1 visa or on OPT and want to start your nursing career in the U.S. with sponsorship, let’s talk.
