Conexus Nurses Share Their Story: Mary

By Conexus MedStaff - Posted Jun 23, 2017

There’s something about Mary, our new nurse from the Philippines! Mary has recently been working in Abu Dhabi and after spending 20 years working as a nurse, has decided that now’s the perfect time to pursue her nursing dream in the United States. Read Mary’s story to find out what inspired her to become a nurse and why she has decided to make the move to the USA.

“I am a registered nurse from the Philippines working in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The reason I decided to become a nurse was because I wanted to care for sick people and to help make them feel good. Nursing is very rewarding: you feel appreciated and are acknowledged for how you care for people.

I have been working as a nurse for 20 years and I have now been inspired to become a nurse in the US. That’s because of my Aunt, who tells me that there are lots of nursing opportunities in the US. I chose to be sponsored by Conexus because my friend, who is now also in the USA, recommended them. Conexus immediately processed the recapturing of my visa application!

I am currently at the Deployment stage in the Conexus journey, and will be moving to the US with my family. The hardest part of this process has been the waiting period due to the recession and retrogression in the USA. Although I will miss home, and my family, culture, traditions and food, I am looking forward to my career growth as a nurse and the future for my family once we are in the US.

My dream is to travel before retiring from my nursing, after a very successful career!”
