Education. A four-year bachelor’s degree is required in medical laboratory science, medical technology, biological science, or chemistry, with a copy of your diploma and transcripts from your university.
Work Experience. You will need at least one year of professional experience working in a lab as a medical technologist. In your current role, you take medical samples, perform clinical testing, resolve technical problems, and conduct routine laboratory maintenance. You’ll need to provide your resume and professional references.
Certification. Also, you must have a certificate from either the ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT (American Medical Technologists).
English Language Fluency. Finally, you should have a good working command of the English language. You must pass the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall score of 6.5 and a 7 on the speaking section.
