Conexus Community Scholarship Awarded to Fifteen Final-Year Nursing Students in the Philippines

Conexus MedStaff is proud to announce that fifteen final-year nursing students have been selected as the first recipients of the Conexus Community Scholarship in the Philippines. In partnership with the City University of Pasay and Far Eastern University, this new initiative aims to support and empower nursing students by alleviating the financial challenges they face as they complete their education and move closer to achieving their dreams of becoming registered nurses.

The Conexus Community Scholarship has been designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students who have shown exceptional commitment to their studies and a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to healthcare services in their communities. Filipino nurses have long been recognized worldwide for their dedication, skill, and compassion, which promote the well-being of patients and families across the globe. This scholarship expresses the gratitude of the Conexus team for the immense contributions of Filipino nurses to global health and aims to ensure that more aspiring nurses can achieve their professional aspirations.

The five selected scholars from City University of Pasay and Far Eastern University attended the award ceremony at the Coneuxs office on 17^th June to pick up their certificated and meet the team. “By providing this financial support, we hope to make a difference in the lives of these outstanding students, enabling them to focus on their studies and excel in their clinical training,” said Benjie Jalasco, Community Development Manager at Conexus. “The scholarship is more than financial aid; it is an investment in the future of healthcare, both in the Philippines and beyond.”

Each recipient will receive financial assistance to cover a portion of their final-year tuition fees or related learning expenses, easing the economic burden and allowing them to complete their studies with confidence. The Conexus Community Scholarship is part of the Global Impact program at Conexus, helping to support the next generation of healthcare professionals and to contribute to the strength and sustainability of the global nursing workforce.

Archie, one of the scholarship recipients from City University of Pasay accepted the award noting on behalf of all the scholars, “Thank you for investing in our dreams and believing in our potential. This support empowers us not only to pursue our education, but also to become instruments of positive change in our communities. We accept this scholarship with a humble heart, and we promise to carry this honor with integrity and a commitment to positive change in our community and to give back.”

In addition to financial assistance, scholarship recipients will benefit from expert support from the Conexus network of experienced registered nurses, helping them to gain confidence and a deeper understanding of patient-centered care. This guidance will offer valuable insights into the nursing profession, help students build practical skills, and prepare them for their next steps in healthcare.
