2025 Conexus Community Award Winner Announced

We are delighted to announce Kristel Maguy Sio as our 2025 Conexus Community Award winner. This award recognizes employees whose volunteer work and commitment to service make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Kristel’s journey in giving back began long before this recognition. While living in Senegal, she has devoted her time volunteering across multiple local hospitals, including one of the capital’s largest. In these settings, Kristel has seen first-hand the challenges healthcare teams face, from shortages of basic supplies like gloves and tourniquets to wider staffing constraints. Despite this, she has focused on contributing in any way she can, whether that’s helping with patient care, supporting daily operations, or sharing knowledge with nursing students she worked alongside.

She described her work simply:

“My perception of giving back is simply making myself available, however they need to use me. It’s about being present and supporting in whatever way I can.”

Beyond hospital volunteering, Kristel has also supported La Maison Du Fils, a local orphanage that relies entirely on donations to care for children in need. After visiting the orphanage through a community donation initiative, she felt deeply connected to the organization and chose it as the recipient of her Community Award donation, ensuring the support goes directly to the children and families who need it most.

Kristel’s compassion and willingness to serve reflect the spirit of this award: showing up, supporting others, and making community an active part of her life. We are incredibly proud to recognize her and grateful for the example she sets.
