Celebrating the Future of Nursing: Our Conexus Community Scholars
By Conexus MedStaff - Posted Nov 19, 2025

Earlier this year, we proudly launched the Conexus Community Scholarship, an initiative designed to support and inspire the next generation of nurses in the Philippines. The program was created to empower promising students who demonstrate not only academic excellence, but also compassion, leadership, and a deep commitment to patient care — the values at the heart of Conexus.
Through this initiative, we’re championing young people on their journey to becoming confident, successful nurses, equipping them with the skills, support, and encouragement to make a difference in healthcare both locally and globally.
Our Commitment to the Next Generation of Nurses

As part of our continued partnership with Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, the Conexus team recently had the honor of being recognized for our contribution to nursing education and student development.
This moment marks another exciting milestone in our ongoing collaboration with FEU and our shared commitment to nurturing world-class nurses from the Philippines.
Meet Our Conexus Community Scholars
We’re proud to introduce some of the inspiring students who have been selected as our Conexus Community Scholars. Each one of them brings unique stories, perspectives, and aspirations that reflect the strength and spirit of the next generation of nurses.
Ashley Mae
Ashley Mae discovered her passion for nursing while caring for her father and seeing the impact of compassionate care firsthand. A graduate of Far Eastern University, she is preparing for the Philippine Nurses Licensure Exam and plans to serve with skill, purpose, and empathy.
For Ashley, the scholarship has been a meaningful part of her journey, giving her access to resources and networks that enhance her education and career preparation. She hopes to contribute to a healthcare system in the Philippines where accurate diagnoses, proper treatment, and equitable care are accessible to all.
“I aspire not only to earn the title of being a registered nurse, but to live it fully, serving with compassion, skill and purpose.”
John Rey
John’s interest in nursing began as a child while caring for his mother’s health needs. A Far Eastern University graduate, he has taken on leadership roles during his clinical rotations and participated in outreach programs promoting health and nutrition, developing both clinical and communication skills that will serve him in his future nursing career.
John plans to begin his career in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and hopes to pursue a master’s degree in nursing so that he can contribute to strengthening healthcare in the Philippines, helping improve access and quality of care for patients and communities.
“To me, nursing isn‘t just a profession. It is an extension of who I am. And every step that I’ve taken, from that first BP reading at the age of nine to becoming a future RN, has brought me closer to the kind of nurse and person I dreamed of becoming.”
Algen Jan
Algen’s childhood experiences in hospitals inspired his dedication to nursing and community advocacy. Also a Far Eastern University graduate, he has excelled academically throughout his journey.
Algen has also engaged in community projects through youth organizations. He led initiatives such as first aid and CPR training sessions, donation drives, and disaster relief for communities affected by typhoons, learning the impact of even small acts of care and advocacy.
“For me, nursing is not just about healing a person, it is about being a beacon of hope and being present in the most critical moments of someone’s life. Being a nurse is not just a title, but a great responsibility.”
Archie
Archie’s passion for nursing stems from his early hospital experiences and a lifelong desire to help others. Seeing the nurses care for him left a lasting impression and inspired him to pursue a career in nursing, not just to provide care, but to make others feel the same gratitude and support he experienced.
A graduate of the City University of Pasay, Archie’s goal is to continue building his skills in emergency and high-pressure healthcare environments while advocating for communities who need support the most.
“I have always wanted to help in any way that I can. I have and will always want to make a difference. I want to be a nurse, care for, and give compassion to others.”
Looking Ahead
The Conexus Community Scholarship is more than a financial award, it’s an investment in potential. Our scholars represent the bright future of healthcare, and we’re honored to play a part in their journey.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the City University of Pasay and Far Eastern University, and expanding the scholarship program to reach even more deserving students in the years to come.
At Conexus, we believe that when we support those who care for others, we build stronger communities, one nurse at a time.
