US Ready: Interview & Orientation

Here's a sample of some topics we'll cover in our Interview and Orientation subject for US Ready.

From "Hospital Interview"...

Your hospital interview will take place after you have completed your Practicing in the US training modules and after feedback has been distributed. Our recruitment teams and operations managers will then present your resumes and information to our clients (healthcare providers) who then decide who they would like to invite to interview (the interview is usually held over the telephone).

This really is your time to shine! You need to be able to sell yourself to the care providers – in terms of your knowledge and skills, your experience, your coping skills, and your personality...

From "Facility Orientation"...

Your nursing orientation programme is delivered to you by your care provider (hospital) and is your introduction to their policies and procedures and organisational structure, certain issues in clinical nursing practice, as well as including training on nationwide laws governing healthcare provision in the US.

Nursing orientations can vary from facility to facility. An orientation programme generally consists of a combination of a set time spent in the classroom followed by a period of time working under the supervision and guidance of a nurse preceptor on the unit where you will work.
