Meet Our Clinical Nurse Educator

Hi, my name is Leanne Howell and I am Conexus’ Clinical Nurse Educator. I have a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Manchester in the UK and have been a Registered Nurse since graduating in 2003.

My nursing career has been quite varied and has included working in Oncology nursing, surgical nursing, learning disabilities nursing, and working as a nurse advisor for two medical device companies (internal feeding and the prevention of venous thromboembolism respectively).

I have a passion for teaching and learning and I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education for Further, Higher and Adult Learning in 2007. Education has played a big part in my career ever since.

I joined Conexus in early 2018 and have personally designed the course materials and assessments for “Practicing in the US” – the clinical side of our “US Ready” training.

Your assessments for “Practicing in the US” will be marked by myself, and I will provide you with personal feedback on your performance. If extra learning needs are identified after completion of the course then I will provide some extra training and assistance to help you move onto the next stage with Conexus.

Please feel free to contact me on l.howell@conexusmedstaff.com if you have any queries. I look forward to working with you!

Meet Our Clinical Nurse Educator

Hi, my name is Ijeoma Enweana, but I go by Ij. I am one of the Conexus Medststaff Clinical Nurse Educators in the United States. I have been a nurse for so many years. I have taught in a variety of clinical areas, the transition to practice programs for new grads and my nursing specialty is in Adult Health.

I joined Conexus Medstaff in the summer of 2019. I earned my BSN and Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and my Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs of North Carolina.

Teaching is my calling and I really enjoy what I do. My goal is to help you transition into the U.S healthcare system. We have created a very comprehensive curriculum, learning modules as a spin-off from the US Ready Module Assessments created by my colleague Leanne, and a Simulation program to support and improve your clinical skills.

I bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the work that I do every day. I believe that I owe it to our nurses to give them the best support. In the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage our nurses to meet their career goals and be their best as well. That is my teaching philosophy.

Please feel free to reach out to me via email i.enweana@conexusmedstaff.com if you have any questions. I wish you all the best in your nursing career in the U.S.
