Emigration Journey for International Allied Health Professionals

Now you’ve secured your new position in the USA, we will get to work on the visa process for you. At Conexus, we handle your visa application from start to finish so you don’t have to worry about a thing. All we will need from you are the relevant documents.

Visa Application

There are a number of visas that may be available to you. It’s our job to work with you to find out which one best suits you as an individual, and gets you to the USA as quickly as possible. It is likely that one of the following visas will apply:

Through the EB-3 visa there is the option for your dependents to be sponsored as it allows USA residency with no expiry date. You are eligible for an EB-3 if you are a skilled worker or a professional. Skilled workers include people who have trained for at least two years to enable them to do their job to a high standard. Professional means that you have the equivalent to a US baccalaureate degree and hold membership of a professional organization.

EB-2 visas apply to professionals wishing to work in the USA who have completed advanced degrees (Master’s degree or higher) in their specialist area or who demonstrate exceptional ability which will enrich the nation economically, culturally or educationally. Depending on your circumstances, this option as potentially quicker visa processing times.

A H-1B visa for the US allows American companies to employ highly-specialised employees for occupations which require a high standard of technical expertise. The minimum entry requirement is a Bachelor’s or higher degree (or equivalent) which must be specific to the field in which you work.
The H-1B visa has two different routes, the capped and the uncapped. Luckily for us, some of our major clients satisfy the uncapped criteria, meaning that we can apply for this visa all year round and do not have to worry about the quota of visa applications filling quickly, unlike the capped route!

A TN visa is for citizens of Canada or Mexico who wish to live and work in the USA. Professions which are eligible for a TN visa include scientists, biochemists, occupational therapists and pharmacists, among others. Applicants are required to demonstrate that they have the appropriate professional qualifications to enable them to perform their role.

An E3 visa is for Australian citizens who wish to live and work in the USA. . Applicants are required to demonstrate that they have the appropriate professional qualifications to enable them to perform their role.

You will need to pass your client interview and know where you are going to be working in the USA ahead of your embassy interview as you will be required to take your offer letter confirming these details to your embassy interview.

At this stage we will send you one of our Orientation packs that will give you more information about the location you will be living and working in. We will also put you in to contact with our community of nurses that are currently working at your new hospital so that you can speak to people who have already been through a similar experience.

Embassy Interview

A few days after your interview you will receive your visa, which means you will be almost ready for your next adventure!
